Our faculty was established according to the decision of 2010/782 numbered Ministers Council which was published in the Official Gazette on 15th November 2010. After Professor Zeynep YESIL, who has been the Dean of our faculty since 2012 was assigned, the restoration of the building that is being used, the purchasing of machine-equipment and the organization of the academic-administrative staff was completed in a very short period of time, and healthcare services began to be provided in the reconstructed temporary building. Our faculty started education activities with 41 students in 2013-2014 academic year. Education activities has been continued with total of 145 students in 3 classes as being 64 (46 Turkish citizen, 18 International) students in 2014-2015 academic year and 60 (51 Turkish citizen and 9 International) students in 2014-2015 academic year.
Our efforts to establish one of Türkiye’s most advanced Faculty of Dentistry which is equiped with high quality standards to our city and University have been concluded in 2021 and educational and treatment services are being given in the new facilty since 26th April 2021.
WHY OUR FACULTY
A management style of "providing service to humanity" has been adopted. Our clinics that equipped with the most advanced devices of our time are available in all areas of Dentistry. Our faculty Instructors actively work in patient care, education and research activities in all 8 branches of dentistry.
In addition to routine dental services, services are provided with highly experienced and educated physician staff in areas which require further knowledge and expertise.
Within the scope of faculty education and researches, many different patient profiles are encountered. While our Social Security Institution (SGK) patients who receive health services from our faculty benefit from many services as "free", patients without any social security have access to first-class health care for the most appropriate treatment fees.
In our faculty, health services are provided based on the principle of "Protective Dentistry" and education and training are given on the same basis. Our patients who are in need of "general anesthesia” are served in frame of a joint protocol with Rize State Hospital. In this context, dental treatment, orthognathic surgical operations and other advanced jaw operations of the mentally disabled are carried out easily.
The utmost attention is paid to ensure that the instruments and materials used in our clinic are "the latest technology" products. Treatment alternatives are offered to our patients using the most advanced products. All healthcare staff in our faculty - from apprentices to Instructors - are able to use these materials equally.
In our clinics where "digital radiographs" are used completely in radiological examinations, each unit can easily be reached to the radiology archive thanks to the "digital cards" belonging to the patient. Analysis and planning on both "tomography" and radiographs can be done digitally.
Important steps have been taken to become a center in "Aesthetic Dentistry" and "implant applications".
Currently, many TUBITAK projects and scientific research projects are carried out in our area where education, training and health services are provided internally and these are supported by research.
It is our greatest desire and priority that all of our employees, our patients and our students are found happily, healthily and peacefully under this roof.
